OK – we didn’t exactly have tea with Her Majesty. But it was pretty close in that we did serve one of our specials on June 3rd. It was a Diamond Jubilee tea with all our specials held in London.
We obviously can’t reveal too much as we, at Heriots, were providing our catering to a government department. However to get into London on that Sunday June 3rd, did require special access and security clearance. So we were extra special caterers on that day.
That afternoon as the royal barge went up in the Thames we served our Traditional English Tea Party menu. Which is quite scrumptious as our chefs prepare and bake everything especially.
The added benefit was that we were indoors, while the weather outside did its own version of a Traditional English Summer. However I’m sure if Her Majesty had asked we could have passed her a cup of tea.
In keeping with the fine spirit of the day our 40 guests had a very enjoyable time.
